An Ode to My Roots

I am walking through a field of dragonflies. The hum of cicadas lingers in the air.

Today I am spending my lunch break here, with my heels digging into the dirt. It doesn’t smell particularly nice and it’s hot, but I know this is exactly where I need to be in this moment in time.

A wise woman told me this weekend that I need to spend time building my roots. She said I am perfectly fine among the clouds, exploring my creativity, but now it was time to get back to Earth and connect with my path. She is completely right.

This weekend I participated in my first Reiki workshop. I am going to become a Reiki master. Why?

Because I want to help heal and guide people.

But first I need to connect to this Earth, find my stability and stand on my own two feet.

Like the trees swaying in the distance or the grass beneath my feet. So I’ll keep standing here among the dragonflies and I will keep coming back to stand here.

Until I learn more about these so-called roots.
